Programme Action 2004

This year SI Lewes have supported Lewes District Volunteer Action by providing funds for the installation of a broadband link. This was officially launched in Newhaven on Thursday 26th February in the presence of the Mayor of Newhaven and South East Regional President Jane O'Leary.

In the evening Jane, pictured above right with Beryl Bartter, attended a Bingo evening in Firle organised by Beryl Smith (above left) who acted as caller for the event and Joan Carr who organised the refreshments. This was their response to a challenge from Programme Action Officer, Anne Hudson, pictured above with Incoming President Topsy Hughes. Anne gave each member £5 and asked them to use it to raise funds. As her contribution club member Margaret Hughes has been making and selling Teddy Bears.
